Day 1 of the rest of my life

I blinked and another year passed. I want to make
more out of 2015, than I've done the past couple
of years. The past few years my goal was simply
to survive the day. I want to LIVE this year!  I'm also
Going to find pleasure in every day. A positive
in even the terrible awful horrible no good very bad
day. Today has been great. I love holiday breaks. I love
Having my family gathered around me. Jason home
and totally relaxed. Daulton and Raegan kicked back
relaxed. I love knowing we have 3 more days of this
before it's back to reality. Warm and cozy inside with
football on in the living room, and a vampire diaries
netflix marathon in our bedroom. Even my furbabies
are cozy and content. 2015 is perfect so far!

it's been awhile

Wow!  It's been a VERY long while since my last blog!  I've forgotten how much I love to blog!  Time to rekindle the ol' flame!  Today's will be short as sweet, as I have so many blogs to catch up on!  Quick rundown of what's happening at the Holyfield's!

Well, I got old!  I'm 35 now! Jason is thankfully, older than I at 37, and still the man who makes my tummy do the butterfly thing when he pulls into the driveway, 20 years as a couple, almost 15 of them happily married, and I'm still madly in love.  I'm so thankful that I realize how very blessed I am to have met him so young, and knew from the ripe old age of very nearly 15, that I wanted nothing more than to spend till death do us part with Jason. An answered prayer, 20 years, and 2 wonderful children later, and I'd do it all over again in half a heartbeat!

Daulton is very much the stinky teenage boy!  He's 14 now, and in the 8th grade at Lincoln Junior High, which back in the day was Bentonville High School where Jason, and I roamed the halls holding hands, lifelong friendships were made, and girl drama occurred.  He's a football player now, has beaten every single Autism odd the doctor's placed in front of him, and is now, and forever will be my hero.  He's in mainstream classes, and though it can be a battle, he is usually on the AB honor roll.  Sometimes that pesky math gets him, and he will get a C.  We are so proud of him.  How I love that sassy, back talking, very teenage boy, who will always be my baby!

Raegan is amazing.  She is 11 going on 20!  She is strong willed, un wavering in her deep love for Christ.  A talented singer, a good little softball player, swimmer, and runner.  She is sweet, and compassionate.  Disappointing anyone she cares about hurts her deeply.  She's very smart, taking AP classes in the 6th grade, and too hard on herself.  She demands perfection from herself no matter how many times we tell her her grades are excellent, and all we ask is for her to try her best.

We still have furbabies galore!  Drew is still my sweet yorkipoo.  He's getting older, which makes me sad.  I know dogs don't live forever, but I can't ever imagine a day without my shadow!  Shiver is such a funny girl!  Since we've had her since she was 6 weeks old, and even dog sat her, and her siblings, and Momma when she was 3 weeks old, we are literally all she's ever known.  She's so spoiled, but so very very sweet!  If only she didn't have to sleep UNDER the blanket squished right up beside you.  I swear her body temp is 200 degrees!  Monroe is a sad tell turned happy.  We adobpted him from a shelter.  He was a nasty filthy skittish mess, but I saw something in those HUGE dark eyes.  Almost like his soul pleading with mine.  He was ours, and a night at the vet, getting groomed, and fixed, and we brought him home.  First couple of days he was mellow, cause he was on painkillers.  Then I was afraid we were going to have to take him back to the shelter.  When you'd love on him, he growl, snarl, and pull back his lips.  It  took me a few days but I realized when he did this he was wagging his tail so hard it actually hurt when it whipped against me.  Those are Monroe's happy grunts LOL  he's not snarling, he is smiling.  I think that was what the pleading was, give him a chance.  He has so much personality.  He sleeps on his back in a very unmodest way.  He loves deeply, and whole heartedly.  He lovest fetch, and speaking his name, makes him tremble with excitement.  THe word treat can send him in a grunting, yipping, circle running tizzy.  He's an affectionate mess!  He was obviously abused.  He would duck and wince for about six months after we got him.  He hides through a lot of football season.  Jason yelling at the tv makes Monroe hide.  We've found him in the tub, closest, under the bed, and under Raegan's massive beanbag.  If he can't escape, he will cry,and try to crawl behind you.  Jason will say Oh, Monroe, Im so sorry (in a total baby voice) and Monroe will crawl to him, and crawl up on him, and lay his head on Jason's shoulder while Jason wraps his arms around him.  It's so sweet, but upsetting beacause someone was horrible to this dog who sole mission is to give as much love as a dog can possibly give.  Then we have Juliet.  She is the cat grumpy cat is modeled after.  She is beautiful.  She is not very friendly.  I am very much a dog person!

Lorri and Ty are doing well, along with their furbabies, Molly, Samson, Kelly, and Gracie.  My parents are doing well.   They had to put sweet Maggy Mae to sleep.  Hearts broken all around.  Mom and I are shelter shopping for the perfect Great Dane or Mastiff.  They are going to have a HUGE lap dog!  Holly and Charlie are doing well.  In the same house.  I think this is the longest they have lived in one house.  Sweet Samantha had to be laid to rest this past February due to a tumor.
Shaun and Leslie are great, and just bought a beautiful new home.  Chuck and Holly are as in love as the day they married.

So much more to blog, but lots to do!!
